The 11-14 Years Newsletter is out now!
Hi Everyone,
I would like to introduce myself, I’m Emma Newe and I will be the group head for the 11-14 years age group for the term. My goal is to make each sailing session fun filled, all while making sure that the children learn new skills and progress through their log books.
What’s planned for the term ahead…
This is my fourth year as a sailing instructor, and I sailed here for years prior to that. I hope to pass on some of the skills, tips and tricks that I've picked up during my time here. Some of what’s planned for the term ahead includes:
- Progress through log books.
- Sail new and more challenging courses.
- Get each student to sail at least one different boat to the one that they are used to, hence gaining experience and skills.
- Sail our keelboats, whether it be squibs or 1720's.
I also hope that by the end of the term each student is comfortable sailing in all weather conditions, as it's almost guaranteed we will have a blustery day or two over the autumn/winter months!
Parents - Getting in Touch…
Please don’t hesitate to pop in while dropping your child off, or collecting, to have a chat with me about anything that may come up. Also, you can call the team in the office during the week, their office hours are Tuesday – Saturday (9am-5pm), or contact them by email to sailing@inss.ie.
If anyone (both parents and students) have a question or query, please don’t hesitate to ask!
For all the photos each week, don't forget to check out our Facebook page!
Yours Sincerely,
Emma Newe
