Senior Instructor Andrew Irvin has an action pack week in store.
Andrew has identified three areas to focus on for sailors in Poolbeg this Halloween. Carefully developed in consulation with the Sunday Club Sailing instructors, the week will focus on perfecting basic drills, including tacking and gybing, applying the five essentials and enhancing boat speed.
The group of sailors in Poolbeg all have great skills on the water, and are now ready to take the next step and intensify the coaching. That said, every drill will have fun at the heart of the activity.
We’re also excited, as a new teaching style for the junior programmes at the Irish National Sailing & Powerboat School will be trailed this week at the Poolbeg base. Focusing on shorter sessions, with learning and development beyond just sailing skills coming to the fore. Sailing is a fantastic vehicle for helping kids develop confidence, independence and solve problems. It rewards creativity and good teamwork. Tying a series of new fun and short sessions together that will allow us to focus in on the skill development identified by Andrew means this week is certainly one not to be missed!
Bookings are now open for the sailing course at Poolbeg, running Tuesday 28th – Friday 1st November from 9am-5pm each day. Book online now or call 01 2844195.
