There’s more and more people demanding to try sailing, and we’re more than happy to help.
Sailing in Ireland has been in struggling to attract newcomers since the recession, however, to blame economics is far too simple. We initially saw a decrease in numbers from 2009-2010 but since then, have been introducing more and more people to the water, bucking the national trend.
Irish sailing can take heart from the positive notes coming out of the Irish National Sailing & Powerboat School. This year we’ve launched our Adult Introductory courses a whole month earlier than ever before due to the phenomenal demand to get sailing. On the 4th and 5th of February we’ll run the first Beginner Yacht and Beginner Dinghy Courses of the year. The myth that sailing is only a Summer pursuit couldn’t be further from the truth.
We’re really excited about this early start. The first courses of the year are always great fun, with the added energy that the whole team brings celebrating the return to what we all love doing so much!
