The Irish National Sailing & Powerboat School is delighted to be invading Dun Laoghaire Harbour on Viking Longboats this August!
It’s a little-known fact that the Irish National Sailing & Powerboat School has for many years been the marine service provider to the hit TV Show Vikings, first appearing on the history channel and RTE2 of late.
On Sunday the 20th of August we’ll bring this amazing spectacle to Dun Laoghaire’s East Pier featuring a Viking Village and Longboat on the Pier, a waterborne invasion by longboats and mock battle at sea. This is all part of celebrating Dun Laoghaire Harbour’s Bicentenary
We’re excited to share with the Dun Laoghaire Community an aspect of our work that is rarely seen by the public. Lovers of history, Vikings TV show buffs and families are all welcome to explore a replica Viking Longboat. At 3pm the day’s highlight will be an invasion of Dun Laoghaire Harbour and a re-created waterborne battle between two longboat crews at Dun Laoghaire’s East Pier.
