Spring Term

After a hugely successful Autumn and Winter term of the Junior Club, we here at the Irish National Sailing School are delighted to announce the return of the Junior Club for the forthcoming term. The Spring term is packed with fun events and special activities.

 

Our emphasis this year is for all our participants to progress and enjoy themselves fully every time they go sailing.

 

We look forward to welcoming back our junior club members from previous years and just as importantly our new junior club members to enjoy the sport and challenge of sailing past the short summer season.

 

Spring term dates

 

January; 14th, 21st, 28th

February; 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th

March; 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th

April; 21st, 28th

 

Participants can choose to sail from 10am-1pm OR from 2-5pm.

 

Cost as per Autumn & Winter term: €299

Junior Club 7-10 Years Group



We have a number of exciting activities this year for our 7-10 years Junior Club members including;

 

1. Dalkey Island adventure in our fast and safe rescue boats
2. Fun filled sailing sessions in and around Dun Laoghaire harbour
3. Trips to interact with our local resident seals
4. Advanced sailing in Toppper dinghies

 

Junior Club 11-14 Years Group 

We have a number of new exciting activities and teaching methods this year for our junior club members including;

 

1. Each group having an assigned instructor to monitor progress
2. Adventures in our keelboats
3. Team building games and ecological awareness sessions
4. A sailing movie night at the end of our term
5. Advanced sailing in our RS Feva XL dinghies

 

 

Junior Club 15+ Years Group

We have a number of exciting activities this year for our 15+ Years Junior Club members including;

 

1. Team building and problem-solving activities such as raft – building
2. Adventure sailing on out fleet of keelboats
3. Regular updates on our new INSS Facebook page
4. Develop sailing skills for introduction to Instructor Pre-entry

 

 

The Junior Club is a great way to achieve your Gaisce President’s Award. Sailing can be used to go towards the Personal Skill or Physical Recreation section of the award!

 

Remember all of the INSS sailing instructors have emerged from this age group. Potential sailing instructors will be monitored and coached during the morning sessions.
